The upper features a new material, the Udon Knit Upper, which delivers a whole new level of comfort and performance. As its name suggests, a chewy, udon-shaped fiber material is sandwiched inside the upper, allowing it to contain more air than typical knits, resulting in a soft, comfortable feel, almost like a pillow inside. Additionally, its unique properties allow it to stretch in one direction while not stretching in the other. While offering improved mobility and comfort when walking compared to the previous model, its lack of unidirectional stretch also improves support. A thin PU film covers the entire upper, adjusting the upper's stretch while also providing high water resistance. The BOA model, like the previous model, utilizes the Straight BOA Wrap, while the Power Cage, a synthetic leather material on the exterior of the upper, boldly supports the areas that stretch most during swings, significantly improving stability. The zipper has also been improved to more clearly show the difference in performance when opening and closing.
