To prevent topping the ball, the leading edge is lowered to allow the clubface to make contact with the lower half of the ball more easily, and the sole back is designed to prevent fat shots.

The inpres DRIVESTAR for LADIES FW features an ultra-low CG design that enhances repulsion near the impact point and an evolved shape for improved distance and forgiveness. ■ Low CG design enhances distance performance at the lower part of the face. Distance performance at the lower part of the face (impact point) is especially important for fairway woods and utilities, where second shots are often struck from the ground. The enhanced distance performance provided by the ultra-low CG design achieves high initial velocity. ■ An evolved shape that is resistant to both "topping" and "duffing." To prevent topping, the leading edge (the boundary between the face and sole) has been lowered to make it easier for the face to contact the lower half of the ball. The shape also provides relief at the back of the sole to prevent duffing.
