The 2-BALL and JAILBIRD MINI are also new. Seven new models have been added to the popular Ai-ONE insert model lineup. The Ai-ONE putter has been generating a buzz since last year as the first to incorporate AI into the design and development of an insert. Its almost magical technology, which even allows for off-center shots to be centered, combined with an innovative window that allows a view of the back of the face, has made it a huge hit among pros and amateurs alike. Further fueling its popularity, a long-awaited new lineup has now been released. In addition to the five previously released models, the new lineup includes seven new models, ranging from conventional blades to familiar mallets. These include the 2-BALL type, one of Odyssey's signature head shapes, and the JAILBIRD MINI DB, which boasts the same shape that was a huge hit on the US tour in 2023. The shaft, of course, is the newly developed STROKE LAB 90 shaft, which is all steel. [Features & Benefits] ■ Dramatically minimizes ball speed loss. One of the problems with putting is the loss of ball speed when hitting the ball off-center. Data suggests that a 1cm deviation in the impact point toward the toe or heel reduces ball speed by approximately 20%, meaning that on a 10-meter putt, the putt will be 2 meters shorter. To address this issue, Odyssey has newly incorporated AI design, a proven technology in Callaway's face technology. We developed an insert that minimizes the loss of ball speed to approximately 5% (50cm over 10 meters) even with a 1cm deviation in the impact point, resulting in the new "Ai-ONE" putter. ■ Same feel as the White Hot insert. The insert in the "Ai-ONE" putter consists of an aluminum section with complex ridges designed by AI and a resin section on the impact surface. Initially, Odyssey considered using only resin with the AI-designed ridges, but encountered the challenge of recreating the complex shape. This led to the idea of incorporating aluminum, the material initially recommended by AI, in addition to the insert. Aluminum had durability issues and was initially abandoned, but by combining it with resin, these issues were overcome, allowing the product to be commercialized. The resin face is grooved to mimic the feel and sound of a White Hot insert, resulting in a feel on par with that of a White Hot insert. ■Polycarbonate window reveals the underside. Each Ai-ONE putter head incorporates a technology not previously available in clubs or putters, allowing players to enjoy the unique technology. A transparent polycarbonate window is installed on the back face of the blade type and on the sole of the mallet type. Through this window, the intricate ridges of the AI design formed on the underside of the insert can be seen. ■Stainless steel body with a dark blue PVD finish. The body housing the AI insert is made of stainless steel, and the head has a dark blue PVD finish. To increase the moment of inertia, approximately 15g screw weights are installed on the toe and heel of the sole. ■ The newly developed steel "STROKE LAB 90 Shaft." Odyssey's proprietary STROKE LAB shaft has also been completely redesigned to match the "Ai-ONE Putter." The previous model was a steel-carbon composite shaft, but tour players expressed a preference for a steel shaft, while also expressing a desire for the stability of a STROKE LAB shaft. The new "STROKE LAB 90 Shaft" achieves a lightweight steel shaft weighing in at around 90g, while maintaining the same butt diameter as the previous STROKE LAB shaft, reducing torque and preventing unnecessary shaft movement during the stroke. Additionally, a counterweight is installed inside the shaft near the grip, increasing the overall moment of inertia of the putter during the stroke. ■ Including the previously released shafts, the lineup now includes a total of 12 models. Seven new models have been added this time. These include the blade "#2," the "DOUBLE WIDE CH" with a wide blade and a crank hosel neck, the "ROSSIE DB" with a mallet head and double bent neck, the "#7 DB" with a horn-shaped head and double bent neck, the "2-BALL DB" with a double bent neck and a 2-BALL type that is making its debut in the series, the "2-BALL CH" with a 2-BALL head and crank hosel, and the "JAILBIRD MINI DB" with the head shape that became a hot topic in 2023. This brings the Ai-ONE putter lineup to a total of 12 models, including the five models released previously.
