Introducing the new "repulsive forged iron" that combines forgiveness and high trajectory.
The newly released "X FORGED MAX STAR Irons" are a model in a category that effortlessly produces long distances from a large, reassuring head, but they are truly unique in this category. While composite models made from cast stainless steel are common, Callaway has introduced a "dual soft iron structure" in which the face and back of the iron are forged from soft iron (S20C) separately. By positioning the center of gravity slightly higher, the ball is deliberately struck below the center of gravity. The unprecedented deep pocket and wide sole create a deep center of gravity, even for a forged iron, creating a gear effect not found in conventional irons. This is the first Callaway iron design to feature a soft-feeling soft iron that increases backspin at impact, providing the ease of a utility club. Seven irons are available, ranging from I#4 through I#9 and PW, with two steel shafts and one carbon shaft. The cut glass-like X design, reminiscent of a Japanese-designed product, also stands out.

The X FORGED MAX STAR irons were developed with the challenge of achieving great distance performance and incredible forgiveness while forging soft irons. Callaway's solution was to combine two pieces of soft iron in a "dual soft iron construction."
■Unprecedented performance created by a large pocket cavity
The "Dual Soft Iron Structure" is achieved by forging the face and back of the club separately from S20C soft iron, then welding the two together to create a single head. This results in an unprecedentedly deep and large pocket cavity with a slightly higher and deeper center of gravity, a structure not found in conventional irons. Combined with the thin, highly resilient face, this design not only delivers distance but also allows for high, spin-rich trajectories. In addition to the comfortable feel of the soft iron, it also delivers incredible forgiveness, spin performance, and great distance.
■ Tri-level sole design provides smooth swing even with a wide sole
The X FORGED MAX STAR irons feature a large pocket design and a wider sole, making it easier to pick up the ball. The sole also features the tri-level sole design familiar from the X FORGED and X FORGED STAR irons. The leading edge has a comb-like chamfer, while the trailing edge has a consistent chamfer from the toe to the heel, reducing excess rebound even with the wide sole, allowing for a smoother swing.
■X FORGED MAX irons have a larger X-shaped accent
The X FORGED iron series, which began in spring 2024, was planned in Japan, and as a result, the new "X FORGED MAX STAR irons" incorporate a Japanese-inspired design. The letter X is engraved on the toe side of the lower back face, just like the X FORGED MAX irons, but it uses a treatment reminiscent of the cut-out pattern seen in Kiriko (cut glass). It serves as an eye-catching accent within the overall sharp design. Furthermore, the letter X is larger than that of the X FORGED MAX irons, creating a more pronounced design.
The loft is set to be 1 degree flatter than the X FORGED STAR irons
The X FORGED MAX STAR Iron lineup consists of seven clubs: I#4-9 and PW. I#4 and I#5 will be sold individually, while I#6-9 and PW will be sold as a five-club set. The loft is one degree flatter than the X FORGED STAR Irons, with I#7 at 30 degrees. Two types of steel shafts and one carbon shaft model are available.
