Golfers who tend to duff the ball tend to aim the head at a sharp angle to the ball due to fear of making a mistake, but this actually increases the likelihood of sloppy shots with a standard wedge shot. That's why the "TK" design features a precisely calculated, rounded leading edge to accommodate a sharp angle of attack, maximizing resistance to rough misses...or rather, to the point where it's frighteningly difficult to dig into the ball. ■ Club balance designed to prevent rough misses. Golf clubs typically have a lighter grip and a heavier head, which can lead to a slower transition and a sharper head angle, resulting in rough misses. "TK" reduces the clubhead's weight and shifts the balance point closer to the grip, preventing a sharper head angle. ■ Advantages of the Dual-Material Composite Forged Head. While the TK design features a large head to fully utilize the voluminous sole shape, increased weight can also lead to functional disadvantages, such as difficulty to handle. A new technology called "Dual-Material Composite Forging" addresses these concerns. This forging process, which embeds a ceramic-based, lightweight material (CMC core) inside the sole, allows for the desired weight and center of gravity to be achieved despite the large head size. The center of gravity is kept at an optimal height, not too low, to improve shot stability. ■Leading edge for better ball pick-up. The leading edge has been rounded compared to the previous model, resulting in an improved face shape that makes it easier to pick up the ball. The thinnest face thickness in Fourteen history, at 1.75 mm, enables even higher trajectories with high initial velocities. #8 through PW clubs use 2.0 mm high-strength nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel. It combines high repulsion performance with a mild feel. ■The benefits of the face's repulsion performance. Higher initial ball velocity directly translates into a longer trajectory. Even at lower head speeds, the club maintains the trajectory drop angle necessary to land on the green. ■Optimal score line design clearly defines the role of each club. #5 through #7 clubs feature shallower score lines to optimize resilience and enable higher trajectories. #8 through PW clubs maintain resilience while featuring deeper score lines to reduce flyering in the rough or on rainy days, ensuring consistent spin and the desired distance. ■Strongly repulsive head with a mild feel and impact sound. To overcome the excessively loud and hard impact sound of the pocket cavity design, which pursues higher initial ball velocity, a vibration-absorbing elastomer is injected into the bottom. This provides a pleasant, repulsive, and mild feel and impact sound. ■Center-of-gravity design aligns the actual impact point with the sweet spot.
