Bob Vokey is the craftsman behind the #1 wedge on tour. No discussion of wedges would be complete without mentioning him.
Influenced by his father, who ran a precision tool and mold manufacturing company, he was a passionate man who devoted himself to adjusting and customizing golf clubs with his own hands. Feeling that he had reached the limits of his talent as a player, he devoted himself to adjusting clubs. After establishing a custom shop, he distinguished himself as the exclusive golf club master for a famous professional golfer, and quickly made a name for himself. He then joined TaylorMade, and after retiring, he established Founders Clubs with Gary Adams, the founder of TaylorMade and known as the "father of metalwoods."
In 1996, he moved to Titleist and was tasked with supporting the development of the 975D Titanium Driver. Titleist wanted to develop a high-performance, authentic wedge, and entrusted him with its development. Vokey Design wedges have been overwhelmingly popular and used on the PGA Tour since 2004, and have grown to become the No. 1 wedge on tour, earning the enthusiastic support and trust of passionate golfers of all levels looking to improve their scores.
