The QUANTUM Fairway Wood Series has been refined through a wide range of improvements, including improved ball speed, maneuverability, and release.
The "QUANTUM" fairway wood was developed with the goal of optimizing launch angle and impact point. The Speed Wave structure, which was introduced in the previous model, the "ELYTE," is now even more advanced. The new Speed Wave 2.0 design, with its floating placement inside the sole, is now positioned further back in the head, increasing deflection even when impacting the lower part of the face, minimizing ball speed loss. This results in high launch and consistent distance performance. The latest adjustable hosel, "OptiFit 4," offers a wide variety of loft and lie angle combinations, allowing golfers to tailor their trajectory to their individual needs. Furthermore, the new "Step Sole" design provides even better release than before. This represents a complete improvement in every respect.
■The Speed Wave has evolved into its second generation. The focus of the QUANTUM fairway wood series is the Speed Wave, a feature introduced in the previous ELYTE series. Now, it's evolved into Speed Wave 2.0. While maintaining the same overall weight, the weight has been narrowed in the toe-to-heel direction and extended further back, allowing for a more rearward screw position. The front end has also been moved as far back as possible to the rear of the face, and the height above the inner sole has been designed to be as low as possible. This allows for an extension of the hinge section (the L-shaped bend) below the face cup, increasing deflection even at impact with the lower part of the face, minimizing ball speed loss. This delivers high launch and consistent distance performance. The shallow center of gravity design also improves head control at impact.
■The hosel features Optifit 4, which offers a wide variety of loft and lie angle settings. Another major change from the previous model in the QUANTUM fairway wood series is the hosel. This model features an adjustable hosel called Optifit 4, which was first used in an ELYTE utility. Compared to previous adjustable hosels, this offers more loft and lie angle settings, making it easier for each golfer to achieve their preferred trajectory and also allowing for more appropriate adjustments to the distance gap between clubs.
■The step sole design is now triangular. The step sole design that first appeared in the ELYTE fairway wood series has been refined. In the previous model, the central part of the step was trapezoidal, but this time it has been changed to a triangular shape. This has resulted in improved sole release while maintaining the head's stability at address.
■ Callaway's AI design continues to be incorporated. The face incorporates the AI design (designed specifically for each model and club) that Callaway has cultivated over many years. It was designed by AI using inputs of realistic swing and trajectory data from many golfers. Because the face is more prone to deflection at impact, the AI-designed control points have been further strengthened, providing greater trajectory correction than ever before. It optimizes launch angle, spin rate, and other factors for each impact point, achieving consistent ball speed. It delivers the ball to a narrower, farther landing area.
■ [QUANTUM MAX Fairway Wood] The QUANTUM MAX Fairway Wood is the standard model in the series. The head has a rounded shape typical of Callaway, inheriting the shape from the previous ELYTE fairway wood. Seven clubs are available: W#3, W#3HL, W#5, W#7, Heaven, W#9, and W#11. The OptiFit 4 hosel is used on W#3, W#3HL, and W#5. The crown is made of carbon material from W#3 through Heaven, and stainless steel from there on.
■ [QUANTUM MAX D Fairway Wood] The QUANTUM MAX D Fairway Wood is a model that allows you to easily hit high-trajectory draw shots. The head is slightly longer from front to back, with a draw-biased characteristic, and it has the largest volume in the series, with a slightly deeper face. Four clubs are available: W#3, W#3HL, W#5, and W#7. The OptiFit 4 hosel is used on the W#3, W#3HL, and W#5. The W#3, W3HL, and W#5 have carbon crowns, while the W#7 has a stainless steel crown.
■ [QUANTUM MAX FAST Fairway Wood] The QUANTUM MAX FAST Fairway Wood is the lightest model in the series, designed to deliver a high-trajectory, draw-oriented shot. The head is longer from front to back and has a draw bias. Compared to the ELYTE MAX FAST Fairway Wood, the face is shallower, and the toe and lower heel are slightly boxier, increasing volume. The face appears wider at address, giving the player a sense of confidence that the ball will be easy to pick up. Available in four sizes: W#3, W#5, W#7, and W#9, the W#3 and W#5 feature OptiFit 4, a first for a MAX FAST model. The W#3, W#5, and W#7 models feature a carbon crown, while the W#9 model features a stainless steel crown. A distinctive feature is the loft setting: the W#3 has a 16.0-degree loft, which prioritizes ball launch.
